Rick Evans, our President, began in the Bakery Equipment business back in 1987.  Then, only 19 years old, He was hired by Max Baxter to sweep the floors of his oven manufacturing company known as Baxter Manufacturing Inc.

It didn't take Rick long to move up in Max's company and learn the ins and outs of the Oven manufacturing world.  He found himself being asked questions about how to fix the ovens over the phone by Baxter customers - and then conceived the idea of beginning his own Bakery Oven Service Company.

Rick began his own Bakery Equipment Repair Company in 1991.  Rick had no more than a fist full of business cards and a small pick-up truck.  He drove around handing out his cards and offering repair services to all the local bakeries and food store chains.  His little company quickly grew to be one of the best known Bakery Equipment service companies in the Washington and Oregon area, employing some of the top Bakery Equipment technicians in the area.

In 1997 Rick added Equipment sales to the company. His name and company became quickly known across the United States for quality Used Food Service Equipment.  Rick made sure each piece of equipment was completely gone through prior to being shipped out.  Many of his used items looked NEW when they went out of his shop and were covered by his 90 day full warranty.

As many larger Food Store Chains dropped their scratch bakeries and went to frozen bake off type products, the service business started to decline.  Finally in 1999, after much consideration, Rick Evans closed the doors of his Seattle Based Bakery Equipment Service Company.

In September of 1999, Bakery Equipment.com, Inc. was launched.  It took on an entirely new concept in Food Service Equipment Sales.  It provided the customer with a variety of brands of New Equipment with pricing so that they could comparison shop at their leisure and make informed decisions about their purchases.  It also gave the customer access to HUNDREDS of Used equipment dealers in one place.

Since it's small beginning, Bakery Equipment.com has quickly grown and was recognized by INC. Magazine in 2007 as one of the Nations fastest growing companies.
