What is an Automatic Divider-Rounder?
Divider-rounders are machines that are capable of portioning dough pieces to a desired size or weight, then forming the pieces into dough balls. The less expensive versions of these machines are semi-automatic, and they work by dividing larger hand-scaled dough heads into a set number of equal portions. We classify a machine as fully automatic when no pre-scaling is required and a bulk amount of dough can be put into a large hopper for scaling, rounding and discharge. These automatic machines can be used in conjunction with an travelling intermediate proofer and moulder to form a bread or roll line.
